Cefixime is an antibiotic in the cephalosporin class of drugs. Cefixime is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections such as:

sore throats,

ear infections,

tonsillitis,

laryngitis,

pneumonia,

bronchitis,

staph,

urinary tract infections (UTIs),

chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and

gonorrhea

Emcillin is effective in the treatment of the following bacterial infections:

Respiratory Tract infections (Upper and Lower)

Ear, Nose and Throat infections

Bone and joints infections

Pelvic infectionsGastro-intestinal infections

Urinary Tract infections

Septicaemia, Endocarditis and Orthopaedic infections.

Care must be taken when high doses are given to patients with renal impairment or congestive heart failure.

It should be discontinued if a skin rash occurs.

It is preferable if not given to patients with infectious mononucleosis since they are especially susceptible to Ampicillin-induced skin rashes.

Due to the danger of Penicillin sensitivity, do not take this medication without consulting your physician.

Emgyl Tablet is a prescription medicine that is used to treat a sexually transmitted infection (symptomatic Trichomoniasis). This medicine works by interacting with DNA, leading to interference in DNA synthesis, and DNA degradation leading to the end of the bacteria. Emgyl Tablet is also used to treat a genitourinary infection (asymptomatic Trichomoniasis), to treat asymptomatic sexual partners, to treat a parasitic infection of the colon (amebiasis) and a parasitic infection of the small intestine (giardiasis), to treat certain anaerobic bacterial infections, such as intra-abdominal infections, skin and skin structure infections, female reproductive (gynecologic) infections, blood poisoning (bacterial septicemia), bone and joint infections, lower respiratory tract infection, serious heart infection (endocarditis), and central nervous system infections, to prevent the infections that may occur before, during or after the operation of the intestine (elective colorectal surgery), to treat acute dental infections e.g. painful infection of the gums (acute ulcerative gingivitis or acute pericoronitis) and pus inside the teeth (acute apical infections), and to treat anaerobically-infected leg ulcers and pressure sores.
