THEME: Globalization and Culturalization: the modern family dilemma.
The event kicked off at 10:00am as scheduled despite the heavy downpour and was well attended. Amongst the participants were school heads and proprietors of schools, stakeholders in the church, parents and students drawn from various secondary schools within the district.
The guest speaker spoke on how the advent of globalization (with special emphasis on social media) was gradually eroding ideal family values and how the out-sourcing of the upbringing of our young ones was stealthily breaking family bonds. It was a wake-up call for parents to assume their rightful place in the lives of their young ones and not allow the media (globalization) to overtake their roles. There was an interactive session afterwards in which questions and comments were entertained.
Other highlights of the event were dance performances by students, award presentations to outstanding lectors and renditions by both the students and various church groups.
We had roll-up banners conspicuously displayed and were given a stand which we used to display some products. Also, promo items given (exercise books and biros) were used as part of the registration items for participants. Some participants also took time out to visit our stand and interact with us. Other companies were also represented at the event.
